Pastor Terrance J. Gowdy

Pastor Terrance J. Gowdy was born on September 26, 1966 in Pontiac, Michigan, the only son of Sandra Peoples and the late Ronald Gowdy. He is the oldest and only brother to three sisters. Pastor Gowdy was raised and nurtured in a Christian home where service to the Lord was an essential way of life. He started his
Christian walk at New Bethel Baptist Church of Pontiac, Michigan under the leadership of the late Pastor Amos G. Johnson.  Being very active at New Bethel, he served in various leadership roles, including being the President of the Youth Choir, the Youth Usher Board and the Youth Department.

He received his education from the Pontiac School District, graduating from Pontiac Northern High School in 1984. In 1986, Pastor Gowdy heard the voice of GOD speaking to him from the book of Isaiah 61:1, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me: because He hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek.” Shortly after this, Pastor Gowdy accepted his call to the ministry. His first sermon, “Preparing for Battle” was given in July of the same year.

After years of preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ, God elevated Pastor Gowdy to pastor the Second Baptist Church of Romeo, Michigan where he served from 1993-2004. In April 2006, Pastor Gowdy accepted the call to become pastor of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church.  Pastor Gowdy is anointed preacher of the Gospel, who continues to strive to “go higher” through diligent study and preparation to lead people to GOD.

Pastor Gowdy has been leading advocate for the Ministries and Officers of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. Through his ministry people are discovering their destines. Through our Mission Ministry, we have donated a substantial amount of money and time to the Ronald McDonald House, the Pontiac Optimist Club, St. Jude’s Hospital, and a monthly donation to Feed the Children. Under his leadership, we offer to the community a first class Annual Health Fair that is well attended and sponsored Thanksgiving and Christmas Dinners for the homeless. He is an active member and has also studied at the National Baptist Convention, USA, Inc., Crystal Lake District of the Wolverine State Convention, and has received numerous awards and certificates for his community services and religious leadership. This humble servant is advancing the kingdom of God in a whole new way.

Pastor Gowdy, in addition to preaching the Gospel, enjoys anything which glorifies and magnifies our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. For recreation, he also enjoys sports, movies, being in the company of good people and seeing others blessed.

Pastor Gowdy is the proud father and has been blessed with two daughters, Triniti and Tahlia. Pastor Gowdy is truly a man “Called by God”, who believes in “Doing it God’s Way.”
